The Beauty of Euler's Identity

Euler’s identity is often called the most beautiful equation in mathematics:

e^{i\pi} + 1 = 0

It links five fundamental constants — $e$ , $i$ , $\pi$ , $1$ , and $0$ — in a single statement. It falls out of Euler’s formula,

e^{i\theta} = \cos\theta + i\sin\theta

evaluated at $\theta = \pi$ , where $\cos\pi = -1$ and $\sin\pi = 0$ .
